Remote IT support for Australian small businesses

Essetech is an Adelaide IT company. We look after small businesses across Australia remotely. Something breaks, you get in touch, and we connect to your computer and fix it. Most everyday problems are sorted on the first contact.

Who remote IT support suits

If you're in Adelaide and want someone at your office, see our IT support in Adelaide page. If you're anywhere else in Australia, this page is for you.

Remote support works well when nobody nearby looks after your IT, or when your team isn't all in one place.

Remote support works well for:

  • Offices outside Adelaide with nobody nearby who looks after IT.
  • Teams that work from home or split across several sites.
  • Businesses where an owner or the office manager has become the accidental IT person.
  • Anyone tired of a hold queue who wants to ring a person who can fix the problem.

What we fix remotely

Most of what goes wrong in a small business can be fixed over a remote session. These are the jobs we get asked about most.

Email and Microsoft 365

Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive problems, plus admin work.

Printers and scanners

Drivers, stuck print queues and setup.

Networks and Wi-Fi

Connectivity problems, router setup and VPN configuration.

Software

Installs, updates, licensing and compatibility problems.

Security

Virus and malware cleanup, phishing response and tightening up settings.

Cloud services

Setup, backups and ongoing management.

Phones and tablets

iPhone, Android and iPad setup and email configuration.

Computers

Troubleshooting and setup on both Mac and Windows.

Three calls that show how it goes

If nobody can print, it's nearly always a driver or a stuck print queue. We connect, clear it and test it, usually inside ten minutes.

If your email has stopped working on your phone, it's almost always a sign-in or licence problem after an update. We fix it while you're still on the phone.

If the internet's down and nobody can work, we work out whether the fault is your equipment, your provider or the NBN. Then we chase whoever is responsible, so you aren't the one on hold for an hour.

What needs hands-on help

Some jobs need a person in the room. Hardware replacements, network cabling and server work are the usual ones. On-site support is available across the Adelaide metro area.

How a support request works

  1. 1

    You get in touch

Use the contact form on our site. We reply within one business day for new enquiries.

  2. 2

    We log it

Every request goes into our helpdesk system, and you can see the status of your tickets at any time.

  3. 3

We fix it remotely where we can

We connect, sort the problem and explain what happened in plain English.

  4. 4

We tell you if it needs hands on

If a visit or a part is needed, you hear that early, along with what comes next.

  5. 5

    We close the ticket

You keep a record of what was done.

We aim to respond to support requests within 30 minutes, and anything that stops your team working goes to the front of the queue.

After-hours emergency support is available for urgent problems that can't wait until morning.

What it costs

Our prices are published, in Australian dollars, and they exclude GST.

  • Hourly support: $150 an hour + GST in standard business hours, and $225 an hour + GST after hours. Remote support has a minimum charge of $75 (the first 30 minutes).
  • Managed IT, per user per month: $99 + GST for Support, $139 + GST for Support and Security, and $175 + GST for Fully Managed.
  • 24/7 monitoring of servers, PCs and Microsoft 365 is $15 per device per month + GST, and it’s included in the managed IT tiers.

Pay-as-you-go support suits a business that only needs us now and then. A monthly plan suits a business that wants a set cost and someone watching the systems every day.

The full list is on our pricing page.

How remote access is kept secure

Remote support means someone connects to your computers, so how we protect them matters.

We protect the machines we look after. That includes endpoint protection (we use SentinelOne), email filtering, patching out of hours and backups that we test by restoring from them. Where we manage Microsoft 365 for you, we check multi-factor authentication and review who has admin rights.
